Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Total Solar Eclipse 2024 Geocache.  A solar powered geocaching experience in Keystone Park, available dawn to dusk. Use the power of the sun and the spike in dark energy during solar eclipses to reveal the word of success.

This cache contains a special amulet called the Bead of Baily. After some research about this artifact, I learned that it takes the form of a coin to represent a total solar eclipse. I witnessed it's true potential when I traveled to Panama to view my first total solar eclipse on February 26, 1998. The coin has special illumination properties that protect nearby humans from the dark energy that spikes during eclipses. After much thought, I decided to place it in a geocache so the next time we have a solar eclipse all can experience it's power. I have found that it does not have magical properties during lunar eclipses. That's ok, because Keystone park is closed at night. This cache is only available dawn to dusk. Surely the near total solar eclipse on Apr 8, 2024 in North America will cause the coin to react again. I wonder if its possible to fool the coin into revealing it's secrets before 2024?!?

Please be gentle, brains will solve this cache, not brawn. Once you have revealed the secrets of the Bead of Baily, you will be rewarded with a chance to acquire it for yourself. Be courteous to future visitors and give them the same chances of acquiring this magical amulet.

FTF, please take my 1999 Romanian 500 Lei Total Solar Eclipse coin travel bug. That coin is NOT the Bead of Baily, but I thought it was a fitting item for the cache. http://coord.info/TB6M0DR

Do not approach this cache from the north. Park at the designated coordinates and approach from the west. There is an active railroad just north of this cache. Do not approach or cross it. To save you some bushwacking, I would walk down the grass trail to the chain link fence, turn right and go down the hill there. Don't go through the big open grass field. The prickers in this area are particularly nasty.

As it should be, a signed log book is required to find this cache. Simply locating the container is only half the fun :)
