This is to commemorate Beatrix Potter's birth 150 years ago with a geocache series. Beatrix Potter bought Hill Top farm in a village in the Lake District and this led to Beatrix becoming established as a major owner of Herdwick sheep in the area. She purchased additional farms to preserve the unique hill country landscape and she left thousands of acres to the National Trust for us, the public to enjoy. What a great and talented woman! This is an easy cache and good for new starters, as it is in a local park. It is away from the pond area where you would normally find relatives of Jemima, but she is not far from the duck pond and the river that flows through the whole of the park. The main route is a bit off the beaten track and used by many dog walkers, but it is fairly accessible and there is a newly tarred path through to the Duke of Norfolk school, that will take you close to the cache location. As Green Panther and myself have already mentioned you can have a great walk and link this cache to the others we have been placing in the Beatrix Potter series and those we have hidden previously, these include the following; Squirrel Nutkins Johnny Town mouse Mrs. Tiggy Winkle, Hunca Munca, Grumpy Owl, Peter Rabbit returns, Mrs. Tittlemouse & Jeremy Fisher
