LCW = Lake City Way. #enjoylakecity
This little urban pond is a welcome oasis for our urban wildlife. The critters have all given this place an excellent Yelp rating! ;-) It's a stormwater detention pond and not for people to splash around in. Native trees and shrubs thrive here, likely blocking your current view to the pond itself. Care to mention some of the flora in your log?
To peek at the pond, you can walk east and look through the cyclone gate, just before the tax people. Walking around the corner about 2 minutes will give you an even better view. I also uploaded 2 photos from April 2018.
Lake City Pond is located along Little Brook Creek within the Thornton Creek Watershed. Covering 11 square miles and drained by over 18 miles of creeks, this watershed is inhabited by approximately 67,000 people and numerous birds, fish and other wildlife.
