At the 1878 Congress of Berlin the Austro-Hungarian Empire took over Bosnia and Herzegovina. When the monarchy composed itself to establish its rule to the newly gained territory and to bring in its troops, soldiers ran into fierce resistance by the Bosnians, which could be overcome by significant efforts only.
In 2007 the City of Sarajevo refurbished a 1878 battle site with a tiny graveyard at the SEDRENIK hill in Northern direction above the Old Town. Underneath two major conifers there are the graves of two young officers who got killed-in-action during the occupation of Sarajevo.

At the cache there is no parking facility. To reach the site, please, leave your car at the coordinates for parking and walk to the cache. You have to trespass private property (which is tolerated), but PLEASE be so kind to close the gate and the door. Don’t be shy to enjoy a chat with neighbor – muggles, who may appreciate to receive a small gift like a pack of coffee …
