Geocache Description:

This cache will start you off at Wolvesey Castle where you will need to use the information from the board to final the coordinates to the final location which is wheelchair accessible.

At GZ if people think they spot a suitable spot for a small instead of a micro, message me and I shall create a bigger cache here :)

This cache has been reborn in tribute to Surfaboy who sadly archived his cache as he moved away. It has been changed slightly to now become a multi which will send you to an area near by which once was the home to an old medieval church.

Wolvesey has been an important residence of the wealthy and powerful Bishops of Winchester since Anglo-Saxon times. Standing next to Winchester Cathedral, the extensive surviving ruins of the palace date largely from the 12th-century work of Bishop Henry of Blois. The last great occasion here was on 25 July 1554, when Queen Mary and Philip of Spain held their wedding breakfast in the East Hall.

Although known today as a castle, Wolvesey was in fact a luxurious palace. The original approach to the palace, through a gate in the city wall, led into an outer courtyard containing stables, barns, a great wool store, and the bishop’s prison.

To get the final co-ordinates you will need to read the two information boards just outside of the castle. What does Wolvesey mean? _____ Island. = A
When did Bishop Morley have a new house built? = B6CD
The Outer Courtyard contained ______, barns, a great wool store, and the Bishop's prison? = E
Which century did Wolvesey become the residence of the Bishop's of Winchester? = 1F

Cache can be found at: N AB F(E-D).DBE W FFB BC.ED(E-D) The field you will be next to at the GZ holds the covered remains of the chapel of St. Elizabeth's.
