Geocache Description:

Qatar is a hot, water scarce country and clever ways are required to provide water to remote areas.

The State of Qatar's economic development strategy has until recently focused on building the infrastructure required to maximise production in the energy sector. The National Development Strategy 2011-16 (NDS 2011-16) and Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030) provide an overarching trajectory for this growth. The successful 2022 FIFA World Cup bid has given additional momentum and a firm deadline for many major road construction projects.

Road infrastructure development in rural areas has also received attention. However, water is a scarce commodity.

This geocache is hidden next to a water supply station, consisting of a borehole, electrical pump and two water loading arms that are used to refill water tankers. Follow the coordinates to find the cache; pay specific attention to the water pump house.
