Geocache Description:

A pleasant 4 mile stroll along part of the routes of the old Upton Circular by Nightsurfer and the second half of my Alconbury Amble; this new route doesn't involve cattle but some horses may be encountered.

Route:We start off at the bottom of Upton Hill and head over to the Equine Bridge over Alconbury Brook and then head into the back of Alconbury Weston. From there we start heading towards Alconbury before picking up the footpaths again. This one brings us out at the milestone where we cross Vinegar Hill and back onto the footpaths that take us up the hill to Upton. A quick stroll through Upton taking in the VS caches and the CM micro (which you can grab by car after you've finished) and then down the hill back to the start.

There are a few hundred yards of roadwork(with pavement) about half way round leading up to a refreshment stop during licensing hours, but the majority of the walk is field margin footpaths.

There's a little bit of mild hill walking and arable field crossing, hence the elevated terrain rating.

Roadside caches near Upton are NOT really suitable for cache and dashing as the road is narrow. A little roadside parking is available between the first and last caches but please don't block field entrances. Alternatively park in Upton or Alconbury Weston.

All caches are hidden to be found but please replace all caches as found with suitable camouflage as this is grumpy farmer territory. If you're being observed please leave the cache for another day to keep it safe for others.
