School's Out Traditional Cache

This is a family friendly cache with places to park and a nice playground for kids. The cache container is camouflaged. When accessing the cache container unscrew the "lid" carefully. Please be respectful to the property and remember to have fun! The cache is small so please bring your own pen/pencil.

This is the first of several history based caches. The Porter Township Community Center has a history all its own. It was originally built in 1955 as the Porter Township Elementary School. My grandmother worked in the cafeteria, so this cache is dedicated to her. School was in session until its closure in 1997. Soon after, the township supervisors bought the building and converted into a community center and library. The library is open 9:00am to 11:00am and 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesdays only. If you want to know more about this wonderful and historic area feel free to stop in. The cache is a well camouflaged match container. As noted please be careful with the "camouflage."
