The Church of St Mary of the Blessed Assumption was started in the 12th Century and was probably predated by an earlier Anglo Saxon church. The original chancel and knave were added to in the 1200's with the addition of north and south aisle. One hundred years later the tower and south porch were added. Between 1885 and 1890 the church was restored and the chancel and porch were rebuilt.
Many of the windows are fourteenth century; those of the north aisle and some of the south aisle. The west tower is in two stages. There a stair in the south-west corner and an embattlement parapet. The bell chamber has light in each wall. There are four bells; the the treble is dated to 1640 while the other three date to 1839.

Leave no stone unturned.
If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
