Geocache Description:

Another in the growing series of SideTracked caches, placed in or near to railway stations past and present.

This station has been sidetracked since 1985. It was locally known as the Midland Station as it served the Midland railways line. It was actually the first railway station in Lincoln, predating Lincoln Central Station.

Some elements of the station can still be seen in the area known as St Mark's- now a shopping area. There is a fake signal box and some retro-signage. I've marked a waypoint to show the actual location of some of thee original buildings.

Further information can be found at here or in this excellent record, including photos by my friend Mark Warwick:here

For more information on the SideTracked series please follow the "Related Web Page" link at the top of this page.

This is not a huge or exciting cache, it's just placed to mark the location and expand the series. You're only looking for a magnetic nano so don't get too excited!

Please feel free to discover my associated TB: GSAJ7F but please do not share this code with others who have not found the cache.
