Gartside Gardens
Originally created as the Rusholme Road Cemetery in 1821 this small park is no longer used for that purpose. Apparently it has been known as the Dissenter’s Burial Ground as non confirmist’s were buried here. The last burial took place in 1933, and now there is very little evidence of its past remaining. Please note there is no need to go in the park for this cache in case you feel uneasy about it's previous function
Gartside Gardens is now a small park in an urban area. I have worked 5-10 minutes’ walk away for the last 10+ years and have only recently passed here on a lunchtime stroll. It looked like an ideal spot for a cache hence my placement.
The cache is a small container with a log book only, so you will need a pen. Please replace the cache as found – as flush as possible to help it blend in and not be visible.
For those who cache and dash please note that on street parking is pay and display, and traffic wardens do check – one was present when I placed the cache so I had to wait!
If the gate is locked the cache is still accessible.
