This cache is set in a magical part of the Grampians. Park at the Mt Zero carpark. The additional waypoint gives the start of the Mt Stapylton walking track. Commence your walk along this track, following the yellow arrows on the rocks. It is a reasonable solid climb first up Flat Rock (don't know why they call it Flat Rock) for the first 500m, where you then get a spectacular view of Mt Stapylton and the orange "Taipan Wall". If you have good eyes and know what you are looking for, you may even be able to spot the location of the cache (below Taipan Wall).
Continue down now along a sandy track into what is known as 'The Amphitheatre'. After about another 600m, the track again climbs up on a steepish rocky rise. It's a bit of a slog up this hill for about the next 400m. You will know when you have reached GZ. The rocky feature here looks unmistakenly like a bird or a chicken. It is commonly known as "Bird Rock" or "Chicken Rock".
The cache container is an approx 200ml plastic jar. PLEASE REPLACE THE CACHE IN EXACTLY THE SAME PLACE AS YOU FIND IT. People have previously put it back in all sorts of different locations, making it harder for future cachers.
You may even spot some rock climbers scaling Taipan Wall along the way if you look up at the amazing orange cliff.
As this is a reasonable hike into GZ, be sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry sopme water - particularly if it is a warm day. Total distance to the cache from the carpark is about 1.5km. It may take you 30 to 40 min to reach it depending on your fitness. If you are keen, you can continue on upwards after finding the cache to Mt Stapylton. It is a good walk, but only for the fit. Return to the carpark the same way you came.
