Central Cemetery , Franklin County, Kansas
This cemetery was established in 1874. The first 2 people buried here were miners who perished in the coal mines that used to exist a mile two from here. Known as the Valley of Coal Creek, look off to the east as you drive south a mile or so down Colorado rd, this is the area where the mines once operated and the openings of some of them can still be seen today.
