Sandy's cache is a traditional cache with beautiful views across to Fan y Big, Cribyn, Pen y Fan and Corn Du.
Sandy's Cache is a "clip-lock container" cache which is large enough for swaps/trackables. It is placed just off a well marked footpath which follows the ridge "Craig Cwareli" just East of Fan y Big in the Brecon Beacons. There are fabulous views from here looking across Fan y Big, Cribyn and towards Pen y Fan & Corn Du, and the paths here are often much quieter than the main routes around Pen y Fan. It is a very beautiful spot.
We chose to place this cache in memory of our dear friend Sandy who loved walking in the mountains, and in the Brecon Beacons especially. She also loved to travel and enjoyed trekking in Nepal, Peru and up Kilimanjaro. She died in June 2014, when she was just 31 years old.
For the first to find, we are releasing a TB "The Sandy Bug" (TB6BKNQ) in this cache which wants to continue her travels to mountains around the world, and return to this cache for her 40th Birthday on 10th December 2022.
