Kingsteignton is a town and civil parish in South Devon, England. It lies at the head of the Teign Estuary to the west of Teignmouth in the Teignbridge district. It is bypassed by the A380 road between Exeter and Torbay and is also on the A381 to Teignmouth, the A383 to Newton Abbot and the B3193 towards Chudleigh.
Kingsteignton was, until recently, purported to be the largest village in England, with a population of over 11,000. The threat of being incorporated into the nearby town of Newton Abbot prompted the parish council to change the village's status to a town itself: the change took effect from 1 January 2009. However, with a friendly community feel, it can truly be described as "The Village Within A Town".
