Geocache Description:

A few miles from Secret Cove on the Sunshine Coast there are many deep inlets winding several miles into the interior of the country from Smugglers Cove. Here lies on of the long lost caches from the Pirates.

A great place to launch your kayak, see some sea life, etc, in this protected inlet. A few miles from Secret Cove on the Sunshine Coast there are many deep inlets winding several miles into the interior of the country from Smugglers Cove, and terminating in a thickly wooded swamp, or morass. On one side of this inlet is a dark and eerie forest of dead trees. Around one of these gigantic trees, according to old stories, there was a great amount of treasure buried by local pirates. The inlet allowed a facility to bring the loot in a boat secretly and at night to the very foot of the hill. The elevation of the place permitted a good look out to be kept that no one was at hand, while the remarkable trees formed good landmarks by which the place might easily be found again. The old stories add, moreover, that the local crows presided at the hiding of the loot, and had the other birds take it under there guardianship. In this such location, Eagles were the guards on duty. When you the Great Bald Eagle you are probably getting close to the treasure.
