Sredinom XX. stoljeća pronalazak nafte i zemnog plina na širem području Ivanić-Grada donio je velik prosperitet gradu i okolnom području. Prva naftna bušotina (Križ-1) na području bivše Jugoslavije, ali i geografski širem području jugoistočne Europe, bila je u šumi Petica, nedaleko Ivanić-Grada. Zahvaljujući razvoju nove industrije, velik broj ljudi pronašao je zaposlenje upravo u toj industrijskoj grani. Pronalazak nafte i zemnog plina dao je veliki zamah industrijskom razvoju grada, osiguravši zaposlenost lokalnog stanovništva te omogućivši ubrzani urbani razvoj gradske cjeline. Zahvaljujući nafti i Ini stvoreni su preduvjeti za razvoj cjelokupnog gospodarstva, uključujući i razvoj turizma u Ivanić-Gradu i okolici.

In the middle of the XX. Century discovery of oil and natural gas in the wider area Ivanic-Grad has brought great prosperity to the city and the nearby area. The first oil well (Kriz-1) in the former Yugoslavia, but also geographically wider area of South Eastern Europe, was in the woods Fives, near Ivanic-Grad. Thanks to the development of new industries, a large number of people found a job in this very industry. The discovery of oil and natural gas gave a tremendous impetus to industrial development of the city, securing employment of local people and enabling rapid urban development of the whole city. Thanks to oil and INA created the preconditions for the development of the entire economy, including the development of tourism in Ivanic-Grad and the surrounding area.
