LeewayeDiscGolf: This entire area has been drastically changed since the cache was hidden by huge floods, multiple fires, homeless invasions, mountains of trash, and construction. I'm archiving all 3 of my caches back here.
The old two-track road is now a giant county road that now covers some of GZ. Some of the nearby cars are now buried under mountains of concrete chunks. The latest fire did jump the road and burn everything around the cars. We were surprised to find way more cars out here than we originally discovered while hiding the cache. They must have been under vegetation and trees, all of which have been cut down or didn't survive the fire. As we neared GZ we started finding multiple Altoids tins scattered about, all of which were burned. We never did find our original container that held them all. The GZ car was still there and the fender was still intact with the rock used to hold the cache still inside. We managed to find 9 of the tins, all burned. Surprisingly the Sharpie written in each one was still legible. One wouldn't open and we realized it was sealed shut with melted plastic. The remains of the log Ziploc baggie. After prying it open we found a charred mess that used to be the log, with only the cover still legible. If anyone wants to check out the old cars used to make the original levy now is a perfect time. We even discovered, thanks to everything being exposed, old steel cables that are ran through the car doors. They are either holding all the doors closed, or more likely anchoring the cars together to form the levy wall.
Thanks to everyone that found and enjoyed these caches. I tried to bring you to an area rarely explored, unfortunately it just isn't safe anymore.
