Geocache Description:

This is one of ten caches placed for the 2015 Cache Across Maryland. Each location was picked specifically to give cachers a taste of the state and show you its beauty. By combining all ten, you'll be able to see why Maryland is truly "America in Miniature". We hope you enjoy them!

Whitemarsh Park is a 182-acre multi-use park which includes the Bowie Playhouse. The Bowie Playhouse was once a theatre in the woods. It is still an active today.

Historic Williams Plains House was constructed between 1811-1813 for Honorable John Johnson. It is now owned by the business where you parked.

There once was a thriving tobacco farm in this park.

There is a memorial stone marker near an edge of the football field. -Michael "Mickey" Dixon - coach and spirit of Bowie Football


There is approximately 1.5 miles of improved trail that is accessible by wheelchair and bicycle which traverse the park as well as several miles of unimproved trails that are excellent for mountain bike riding. Park is sunrise to sunset. Parking is shared with Bowie Sport Fit (gym) so it could get a little busy but parking toward the back near the trails should be fine.
