Geocache Description:

Walker Woods - a little used Waterloo Region Agreement forest The area has several swampy areas, therefore mosquitoes are plentiful in season Area closed dusk to dawn. No night caching Please!

Walker Woods Regional Forest consists of a single stand type with the dominant species being Sugar Maple. The forest was privately owned and managed as a sugar maple bush until 1993 when it was donated to the Region. Under agreement with the donor, Walker Woods is to be managed/maintained as an old growth Sugar Maple forest. A study completed during the summer of 2003 showed a significant population of great crested flycatchers. There is a new trail that loops around through the forest, as of autumn 2012. I have left the original D/T ratings on my previous WRAF caches as is. Walker road entrance at Cairn, parking on the shoulder of the road and spots for 1-2 cars at cairn driveway. Address 2107 Walker Rd. Bonaventure entrance is very wet at times. Parking lot or roadside parking at Bonaventure.
