Some history about this church.
St Symphorian's Church is an Anglican church in the Durrington area of the borough of Worthing, West Sussex. The original 13th-century chapelry declined and fell into ruins in the 17th century, partly due to damage caused by the English Civil War. Anglican worship was re-established in a tin tabernacle in 1890 as the former village grew into a suburb of Worthing, and during World War I a permanent church was built. It was extended during World War II. English Heritage has listed the building at Grade II for its architectural and historical importance.
Now to find the cache.
At the given coordinates on the south side of the church you will find two benches with plaques on.
On the bench for Benjamin you can assume the following 19ab-19cd.
Head to the second way point on the west side of the church where you will find a memorial stone with four lines of text on it.
The number of words in the first line is e.
The number of words in the second line is f.
The number of words in the third line is g.
The number of words in the fourth line is h.
The cache can be found at N50 5A.BCD W000 2E.FGH
Where A = b+e-g, B = h-f, C = e+f, D = d+f, E = c-b, F = a+c, G = d+h, H = b-f-a.
A check sum of all 15 digits should give 39.
The cache is located a short walk from the church. You will need to bring your own pen but having done all that maths I guess you would have on anyway! Please replace the cache as found and screw the lid up tightly to keep the logbook dry.
