A lock & lock hidden in a wooded location on the Newington - Wethersfield town line. The easiest approach is from the west end of Jordan Lane, up the service road between the two cemeteries. Do not drive past the gate at N41° 43.157 W072° 41.982; beyond it is a service-only road. From here the round trip is about 1.5 miles.
This is named Back Gates because you park near the Emanuel Cemetery back gate, then walk past two back gates to Cedar Hill Cemetery. The cache is placed near the back gate to Cedar Crest Hospital. This is a scenic walk with nice views in all seasons, although not recommended in deep snow.
The Hartford 61 bus comes past frequently, and stops nearby on Jordan Lane. From the corner parking lot the round trip is about two miles.
