A great view of the surrounds from the nearby viewing platform.
Looking North; towards Wollongong, In the NW; quarter there is Coolangatta Mountain. And the Crookhaven Bight. Looking West; Nowra Hill, the HMAS Albatross Navy Air Base. South West; on a clear day you can see Pigeon House Mountain. And Jervis Bay. South; Beecroft Hill, the highest trig on the Beecroft Peninsular.
The Coomes Walk is a great way to find Caches and this one is on the walking trail at its highest point. SS Merimbula which gave its name to the trig, on the three-hour Coomes Walk. In spring, wildflowers are prolific on the Beecroft Peninsular which is also known for its spectacular sandstone cliffs that rise straight from the ocean. You can arrive at this cache either by the Coomies Walk or by the Way Point listed. Congratulations to "RiverRuners" for the F.T.F. and thanks for the favorite!
