This is a Letterbox Hybrid cache. The cache is NOT at the posted co-ordinates.
The ridge on which the Westbury White Horse is carved is a natural border to Salisbury Plain and the Vale of the White Horse.The Ministry of Defence own a vast amount of the land around here and the White Horse area itself is managed by English Heritage and Wiltshire County Council. Farmers work the land and it offers fabulous views in almost every direction.
This Letterbox Hybrid cache is fairly straight forward. As it's a geocache, you have to begin with your GPS guiding you to the start location. From there, you are able to find physical evidence/items which will guide you to your destination... the cache. The Letterbox tradition began many years ago on Dartmoor. This is not really anywhere near as complicated and may lead you to find out what Letter-boxing on Dartmoor is all about.
Please use the stamp as a souvenir of finding this Letterbox cache but remember to replace it in the cache box. To save space in the log book, please do not make practice stamps. Many thanks.
When you are at the posted co-ordinates, look West. You should see some buildings. Walk towards the buildings and look for a footpath sign at the fork in the lane. The cache can be found within a few feet of this signpost, continuing in a westerly direction and towards the White Horse.
Permission has been granted to place this cache. It is not on MoD land. Neither is it on private land where the Trig Point lies. Please, do not trespass.
