Geocache Description:

You can get to this cache by hiking on the orange-blazed Ocean-To-Lake (OTL) Trail OR by kayaking/canoeing on the Loxahatchee River.  See additional waypoints for a good place to land your boat. About a 2 mile walk from parking (depending on your route) or about an hour-long paddle downstream. Cache is on the WEST side of the river.

Please no bikes, horses, or dogs allowed per river and trail rules.

This spot is one of the few places the OTL is directly overlooking the Loxahatchee River.  Whether you're walking or paddling the scenery should be great.

The trail crosses an old culvert just north of here; the ditch remains but the pipe has been removed because it was collapsing and is now sitting in the nearby woods.

A little further north is a big oak that overhangs the river (see waypoint).  A couple years ago someone hung a rope swing on there, but it the rope is gone now (it was neither allowed by SFWMD nor a very good idea for this river).  Across the OTL from the oak are a pair of power poles at the end of a feeder line.  I wonder what they used to bring power to?

Cache placed with permission from SFWMD who own and manager the river corridor between Riverbend Park and JDSP.
