We purchased our first GPSr as a Christmas present, and created an online account on Christmas Day in 2004. Our first attempt was to find nicolo’s YAMC - Pinocchio, the early years, a very well hidden micro, in the trees with a cold wind howling, with deep snow and it turned out later to be hidden on the ground! We were successful in finding our first cache on Nose Hill Park two days later, and we did find Pinocchio a month later.
In celebration of us playing this game with the rest of you for 10 years, we are placing this challenge cache to encourage others to continue to play this game for the long term as well. The D/T for the actual cache is 4/1.5.
This is a challenge cache with a requirement of finding at least 10 caches per year over a period of 10 years. Similar to most challenge caches, you can find the cache and sign the log, and then post a note on the cache page. Only once you’ve completed the requirements can you log this as “found”.
Please either include your # finds for each of 10 years, or have your Statistics page open for view.
It’s fitting that the launch of this challenge is in December, which was the 10th month in the old Roman calendar. It’s also a tribute to our first DNF; it’s a nano that is well hidden.
