Geocache Description:

JUST TO BE CLEAR, IT IS NOT ACCESSED FROM MOTORWAY!

YOU DO NOT NEED TO CLAMBER UP A STEEP HILL. PLEASE USE WAYPOINT MARKER "ACCESS PATH" FOR A NEARBY EASY ACCESS ROUTE TO THE CACHE.

Located on the Castle Hill Trail.  This is an easy geocache, suitable for all the family.

This cache replaces an archived cached (Doin it in stile - GC2YZW8) which I was unable to adopt from its owner.  Its also my first cache that I've hidden!

Having lived in the area for several years, we have only just discovered there is a Motte & Bailey castle nearby.  A fascinating find!  We thought it would be nice for other people to know about this too.  It is believed to be a medieval castle which was built on the site a prehistoric burial mound.  Archaeological excavations were carried out in 1843 and the 1980s.

You can do a nice circular walk past this cache which is just a bit over 2km (and includes another of our caches GC5F3D0).  Be sure to climb to the top of the castle!

The container is a small magnetic container.  Bring your own pen.
