Geocache Description:

A good cache for adventurous seekers looking for a nice hike.

FTF award goes to Gypsy74 and Climber74. Congrats!

Note: This cache will not require you to walk across active railroad bridge or enter active railroad tunnel. We do not wish for anyone to have a "Stand By Me" moment.

This being mine & Kaput's first hide we wanted to go big or go home.  So we did both, since Kaput had the fortune to grow up in this area we wanted to share the beauty with others.  Maybe all those seekers of National Treasure can swing by for this one too.  So first & foremost, what kind of vehicle are you going to be driving?  If you don't have 4 wheel drive with decent ground clearance, you will have a hike ahead of you of about 2 miles in.  We were in Kaput's vehicle of a Subaru which handled the drive portion just fine.  (Kaput here:  This doesn't require 4 wheel drive, if you have 2 wheel drive, decent ground clearance, and a thirst for adventure you'll do just fine.  If you're in a Subaru, you're already pulling into the parking area.  Well played Sir or Madam!)  We drove through the first abandoned railroad tunnel (this contains the Geocache of National Treasure) with no problem.  2nd abandoned railroad tunnel will require you to park, cross over the active railroad tracks, and walk through it.  It will require a flashlight because it will be too dark to walk without.  You will be folllowing the old rail bed to it's end at the old rail road bridge.  Unfortunately the bridge no longer exists but the old pylons still stand in the river.  There you will find an ammo box.  We have listed waypoints for the 'not even going to drive it parking', a nearby benchmark, and finally the 2nd abandoned tunnel that you must hike in from here.  Cell phone service is non-existent. Waterfalls & the river are beautfiul.  We'll even throw in a major hint since you've walked all this way and enjoyed the beauty of the river.  When you get to the end of the rail bed where it would transition onto the old bridge, start looking off to your right.  It's there, it's an ammo box where would you hide it?  This cache is about the journey, not the search.
