Geocache Description:

Over the years Sutter Creek has transformed from a gold rush boomtown into a tourist driven community. Relics of the gold mining era still remain on these side streets.

Wandering down Eureka Street leads to the historic and endangered site of Knight Foundry (Knight's Foundry and Shops). The foundry was established in 1873 to supply heavy equipment and repair facilities to the gold mines and timber industry of the Mother Lode. It managed to stay operational until 1996. Nowadays these foundry remnants serve only as an accessory for the curiosity of gold country enthusiasts.

Please heed all signs posting: NO TRESPASSING & PRIVATE PROPERTY. The cache has been hidden in a location that doesn't require picking up or moving any items associated with Knight's Foundry.
