The cache is located very close to a secret waterfall that can only be accessed from the hiking trail.
The trail starts after passing the dam located in the Clarens nature reserve. Once you reach the dam from the main entrance of the reserve, there will be markers that indicate the trail up the mountain at the end of the dam wall.
Continue along the hiking trail. You will start to climb up a rocky path for a while. Eventually you will reach a barbed wire fence. Face the barbed wire fence and keep the town of Clarens behind you. Where the fence comes to an end on your left, climb down towards the rock face below.
You should hear and see the water flowing that feeds the waterfall. During winter or dry months you might not be witness to any water but should see evidence of where water flows.
Cross over the stream (or the rock face) and make your way left along the edge of the hill on the other side. Approximately 70 meters away, the cache is hidden at a very distinct rock, covered by a smaller rock.
The cache is a small 35mm metal canister.
Good luck and be safe traversing the rock faces.
