Set in the outskirts of this historic market town in northern Oxfordshire, Banbury is perhaps most famous for the nursery rhyme or its fabulous Banbury cakes. Adjacent to the current Banbury Cross stands a large bronze statue depicting the Fyne Lady upon a White Horse unveiled in April 2005 by Princess Anne.
Ride a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross,
To see a Fyne Lady upon a White Horse,
With rings on her fingers and bells on her toes,
She shall have Music wherever she goes.
