Geocache Description:

Passing through this lovely township and any excuse to place a cache...

St. John's Parish

Consecrated 23rd December 1872; the churchyard has frontages on High
and Selwyn Streets, and adjoins the Vicarage. A recently upgraded church
hall, which includes the Parish Office, is also on the site.
Roughcast over the original plank and batons, the church seats 120.
St Johns has an electronic organ.
The Parish Sunday School is based at Leeston.
During 2008 St John’s received a legacy with special intent to pave and landscape
the churchyard and refurbishment is well under way. Leeston with a
population of 1400 is a significant small town within the Selwyn District Council
area.
