Geocache Description:

Welcome to the ‘Dundas Valley Trails’ Series of geocaches.  I do a lot of running throughout this remarkable trail system and I love every minute of it. I’ve placed these caches in order to give you a reason to come explore them for yourself.

These caches will take you along the Sulphur Creek trail and parts of the Monarch Trail. I recommend parking at the end of Turnbull Rd which is the trailhead for the Sulphur Creek Trail. I have waypointed parking.Collect the information provided in each cache in order to assemble the coordinates for the final ((DVTS 9 - The FINAL: GC5JMNO). These caches will either be regular sized containers with lots of swag inside and lots of room for travel bugs and geocoins, or something creative and a little off the beaten path. I’ve done my best to make them winter friendly since winter exposes a whole different kind of beauty in these trails. They will also be kid friendly, so please bring the family for a great day in a natural setting.

This first cache is actually not a regular sized container, but rather a creatively hidden bison tube. However, this is no micro hanging from a pine tree:

In Star Wars Episode 1 there is a scene where Qui-Gon Jinn and Obiwan Kenobi travel underwater with Jar Jar Binks. In that scene their ship is chased by a huge sea monster that is subsequently eaten by an even bigger, absolutely massive, sea monster. During that scene Qui-Gon Jinn drops the line, “There’s Always a Bigger Fish”. This cache is like that scene….except with trees! You need not travel far off of the trail at all...the other trees might be hungry!!

To find the coordinates for the actual cache, solve the following puzzle.

Some answers produce a two-digit number. I have indicated how you should place the numbers by indicating the first digit with a capital letter (A) and the second digit with a lower case letter (a)

N43  Aa.B2b   W079 CD. EFf

Aa – First two digits: the Age of Queen Amidala in Episode 1

Bb – The two-digit year that Episode 1: Phantom Menace was released (two digit number – if the answer is 2014, use ‘14’)

C - The numeric value of the month Episode 1: Phantom Menace was released. If it was released in January then use ‘1’

D - The episode number of the Star Wars movie to be released in Dec 2015, then add 1

E - Age of Anakin Skywalker at his first appearance in Episode 1: Phantom Menace, then subtract 5

Ff - Two digit year that Return of the Jedi was released, then subtract 1 (same rule as above)

Please bring your own pen and return the cache exactly as you found it so that the next person can enjoy it as well.

FOR THE FINAL: In order to locate the ‘final’ cache in this series you will need to note the colour of the bison tube.
