Geocache Description:

Welcome to the ‘Dundas Valley Trails’ Series of geocaches.  I do a lot of running throughout this remarkable trail system and I love every minute of it. I’ve placed these caches in order to give you a reason to come explore them for yourself.

These caches will take you along the Sulphur Creek trail and parts of the Monarch Trail. I recommend parking at the end of Turnbull Rd which is the trailhead for the Sulphur Creek Trail. I have waypointed parking.

Collect the information provided in each cache in order to assemble the coordinates for the final Final name and GC Code will be available soon! These caches will either be regular sized containers with lots of swag inside and lots of room for travel bugs and geocoins, or something creative and a little off the beaten path. I’ve done my best to make them winter friendly since winter exposes a whole different kind of beauty in these trails. They will also be kid friendly, so please bring the family for a great day in a natural setting.

Each May the Sulphur Springs Trail run takes place on these trails. There are race distances of 10km, 25km, 50km, 50 mile and 100 miles. They all take place on a 20km loop of trails. In 2006, funds from that race were used to construct the bridge that can now be found near ground zero for this cache. Feel free to take the bridge to continue with your geocaching, but you won’t find this cache too close to that man-made bridge. Mother Nature made a bridge of her own just a little bit off the trail. You’ll find this large lock n’ lock container trying to make its way across this natural bridge. Once you find it, please make sure it stays right where it is supposed to be so that other cachers can find it after you. Terrain rating is for the hills on the trails and the last couple of meters at GZ.

A lot of runners like to listen to music while they are on the move. Of course that means use of an MP3 player, but many of us still have CDs hanging around. I’ve setup this cache to be a CD exchange. Please feel free drop off TBs or Geocoins, but if you are going to trade for a CD, please leave another behind and make a note of the CD/Artist in your log. Otherwise, please just sign the log and return the container.

FOR THE FINAL: please make note of the Dundas Valley Conservation Area Fact taped to the lid of the container.

Inventory of CDs as of April 15, 2021 is shown in the image below:
