Loch Ness has Nessie, Lake Champlain has Champ, so we thought Georgiaville Pond needed its own monster as well. Hopefully this little guy won't be as elusive as Nessie. This should be an easy find at one of our favorite spots in RI. Georgiaville Pond is a great place to swim or boat in the summer, and we have spent many a summer afternoon enjoying this area. The cache is easily accessible by taking the gravel path that runs alongside the pond, and then turning right on a smaller path. If you continue too far, you will reach "No Trespassing" signs. The cache is NOT in this area - there is no need to go anywhere near these signs. You are looking for a small container that only has room for the guardian of the pond and a log. Bring your own pencil.
Note: There is no fee to walk along the gravel path to the cache. There is a fee to use the beach during hours in which a lifeguard is present in the summertime (approx. 10-6 from when school lets out in late June through the end of August). You will also need a parking sticker to park in the lot during these hours. You may be able to find parking nearby on the road.
Congratulations to Braveheart1219 on the FTF!
