Railway Cache - Regular Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

The Bike Cacher: I went to the cache location and i believe the cache has been stolen. It was a build your own cache kit worth £15 and it had a waterproof camo bag £5. Somebody out there cacher or muggle must have taken the cache because after an extensive search i couldn't find it. There was a stash card inside explaining geocaching but still someone destroyed my hard work. Sorry if you were going to find this cache.

How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

You can acess the cache either by road and hop out or there is a path that leads to it from bathford. The path from bathford can be found if you enter the woods near the geocache Flow Control. Now turn right after a short while and you will come across a path that runs along the railway line. When you reach the place to cross the railway track look left at steps.

Safe use of railway pedestrian crossings

It is everyone's responsibility to use level crossings safely:

  • Cross railway lines at marked crossings only.
  • Stop one step back from the edge of the crossing before looking and listening in all directions for approaching trains.
  • Think about when it is safe to cross. This is when the tracks are clear and there are no trains approaching.
  • If a train is coming, wait for it to pass, then stop, look, listen and think again before crossing. Another train may be coming.
  • Always obey all warning signs.
  • Never jump fences, gates or barriers at crossings.
  • Never force pedestrian barriers open or use the emergency escape to enter pedestrian crossings, except in case of an emergency.
  • Children should always be supervised around public transport. Hold the hand of children up to five years old when crossing rail lines.
  • If using a wheelchair or mobility aid, or pushing a pram or stroller, and the barriers start to close while you are on the crossing, always go to the emergency escape gate ahead of you and not back to where you entered the crossing.

(The terrain rating is 2.5 if you are doing the walk but the cache and dash option would be terrain 1.) The cache was built from a make your own large geocache kit from www.geocaching.com. It was a present for christmas!
