Welcome to Wimborne
A simple cache and dash with parking nearby. There is parking before the cache as you entre Wimborne, on the same side of the road....which can be very busy so please take care if caching with small children or pets.
Wimborne is a lovely town with a population of around 15,000 and a Minster in the middle. The Minster was founded as a nunnery by St Cuthburga in c705. In it you will find the tombs of King Etherlred, who was the brother of Alfred the Great....oh and a tomb of a knight with two left feet! The town was home to Tim Berners-Lee the inventor of the world wide web and Montague John Druitt who was suspected of being Jack the Ripper. In Avenue Road there is a plaque which marks a house where Thomas Hardy lived. The town is also well known for its folk festival which takes place in June every year. If you are feeling thirsty there are 13 pubs in the centre of the town!
Congratulations Glynrob on a quick first to find 😃
