105mm German Field Gun (First Model Produced 1896)
1913 Field Gun captured by Units of the First NZ Expeditionary Force during WW1.
Later returned to NZ and presented to Waipawa by the NZ Government.
Over many years the gun fell into a state of disrepair and was eventually restored in 1981. This work was carried out by the Waipawa Community Work Scheme with Public Donations providing for the specialised repairs.
On ANZAC Day 1982, the Field Gun was returned to the Community of Waipawa to serve as a part of NZ Military history.
BYOP and take a gunner's seat while signing the log.
