Please keep your dog leashed. Even if your dog is well behaved, from a bird's point-of-view he is a threat, which research has shown can prevent birds from nesting in areas like this.
The 50cal ammo can is located on the grey trail, however you'll be starting off at the red trail (on the left) from the parking lot. You'll want to grab a trail map at the parking area to find your best way to the cache.
Sturdy footwear is a must, and a hiking stick/pole is recommended.
The hike is about 3.5 miles roundtrip. It's on the lower end of a 4 terrain. No major elevation changes, but there's some difficult/tricky spots for you to maneuver around.
