Thanks to a geo-injury sustained to my leg while attempting to hide CG582AF, I found myself under the care of several medical personnel this summer. And thanks to a few of their mistakes I found myself with complications. The complications led to further mistakes from even more doctors this fall. And this winter.
Their care reminds me of the classic Weird Al Yankovic song, Like a Surgeon:
“I finally made it through med school
Somehow I made it through
I'm just an intern
I still make a mistake or two”
It's important to have an attitude of gratitude in frustrating situations like these, so this T1 cache was placed as a celebration of all wheelchair-friendly caches, especially since for now I am stuck using either crutches or a wheelchair while I wait for surgery.
Soon I will be getting surgery and getting back out on the trail to caches with higher terrain ratings, but in the meanwhile I hope that the procedure to repair my injured leg goes better than the third verse of the song:
“Better give me all your gauze nurse
This patient's fading fast
Complications have set in
Don't know how long he'll last”
Update as of March 12, 2016: I am now one year post-op and have been doing well--Except for falling down the stairs at Maya's Team's house last week, which set back my recovery by a month or two.
People are going to start to think that I'm clumsy or something...
