Beautiful view of Lake Pupuke.
Pupuke volcano is one of the oldest in the Auckland Field, possibly as old as 150 000 years. It does not have the height people often associate with a volcano because it is an explosion crater. After the volcanic activity ended, the crater filled with fresh water to form Lake Pupuke.
Take some time to relax and have a BBQ in Sylvan Park accessed from Sylvan Park Ave. Beautiful location for kayak/canoe. Plenty of grass, parking and restrooms available for friends and family to have a fun day out.
