Geocache Description:

This is great rest area to stop and stretch your legs, have a coffee and bite to eat or even spend the night at. Located 10km south of Mogo and 6km north of Moruya, it would make a great base for access to local tourist attractions and beaches.

Waldrons Swamp has long been used as a traditional local rest area. This began with Aboriginal people using it as a billy tea stop on long journeys because fresh water could be found nearby. Locals regarded it as "a place where no one would go hungry" due to the abundant bush tucker that could also be found. This continued during the 1930's, when men would walk from Ulladulla to Batemans Bay, Moruya and Wallaga to finally end up in Bega to play footy. They collected players along the way and had a full team by the time they arrived for the game. The journey took a week to complete and was relished by the players. This area was one of the favourite camping spots.

There is some room for swaps. Please watch for muggles when the area is busy.
