To get up there, you can start your journey at either end of the Badskloof Trail. The trail joins Montagu Springs with Eyssenhuis and is 2.2km long. The shortest walking distance to the cave is from the Montagu Springs side. An entrance fee is applicable at either end and a valid permit is required to do the hike through the kloof.
The official path over the river to the cave starts at S33° 46.017' E20° 06.943', but at the moment the bridge is washed away. So, either take off your shoes and walk through the water or go to S33° 46.072' E20° 06.930' and rock-hop your way over the river. In both cases, watch out, it can be slippery! Once over the river, the steps with chain railings should start near S33° 46.014' E20° 06.915'. It's a very steep and dangerous climb up the steps, so please be careful! The chains sometimes cross the path and could present a tripping hazard. There's also a ladder to be climbed near the top.
You will most likely lose GPS reception once inside the cave, so the posted coordinates points to the entrance. GPS accuracy at time of placing was about 4m. The cache is hidden inside on the left side of the cave. It contains a pencil, but bring something to write with just in case.
