I grew up in the Windamere Subdivision, and lived here from 1978 to 2009. I rode my bike from one end of the neighborhood to the other, and briefly had a paper route here in the late 80s. One could say I know this neighborhood well. Growing up as a creative type, it was always a point of pride to live in a neighborhood where the streets were named after famous writers (e.g. Keats, Dickens, Shelley, Chaucer, and Kipling).
Having said that, there are also a couple of small streets in the neighborhood whose signs appear to have encountered a typo along the way. I'm pretty sure that Terryson was supposed to be Tennyson, and that Worton was supposed to be Wharton. But the street names got written down that way, stood as written, and the rest is history. Like Maxwell Scott famously quipped at the end of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, "When the legend becomes fact, print the legend."
Congratulations to Floaten for the FTF!
