Carabidae is the name given to the family of ground beetles. You may have come across some in your geocaching adventures in the South Island as we are home to approx 300 varieties of ground beetles (and worldwide there are an estimated 40,000!!). Keep an eye out when looking for this geocache as you might come across a new species ....
