Tom
This is a series of caches on or near Old Luss Road in Balloch, based on the characters in the Tom Gates series of books.
Tom is the first cache in the series, located 280m from parking at N 56 00.643 W 4 36.520.
Walk along the path next to the A82, and at the hole in the wall turn right so you are walking on the path on the other side of the wall from busy main road. THIS CACHE IS NOT ACCESSABLE FROM A82. The path is bumpy in places so might not be suitable for wheelchairs or buggies.
This series makes a nice level walk suitable for most family members. The road is busy with muggles and duggles, but there aren’t many cars. It is possible to park in Lomond Shores, where there are local facilities including toilets and cafes (one of which welcomes dugs). If you park in the Lomond shore car park the trail starts at N 56 00 213 W 004 35 813, and the whole walk is just under 3 miles. The trail has Tom at one end and Mrs Mumble at the other.
