Deepwater Railway station Traditional Cache

The Deepwater opened in 1886 and closed in 1972. It is now home to the local radio station.

At one stage thestation was the busiest and biggest freight centre north of Newcastle.

During its heyday it enjoyed two dailyruns to and from Sydney. One with mail trains stopping at all stations and the other, the Brisbane express making its first stop at Deepwater.

The Cache is a very small container . Have a look around and try and imagine what it would have been like when it was a working railway station.
