You will need to ensure you have the means to play Wherigo cartridges in the field. For more information visit http://www.wherigo.com. If you're unfamiliar with Wherigo caches may I suggest you read that site thoroughly, and bear in mind this wherigo isn't the simplest to start off with!
A school-themed Wherigo, to remind you of the best years of your life!
Look at the 'Related Webpage' link to find the cartridge and get started.
Enrol in Professor Beach_hut's Academy in the correct use of your GPS. Each lesson will cover a different school subject, but with a twist: you'll have to locate the lessons yourself, using skills obtained by understanding the, shall we say, lesser-known parts of your GPS.
If you don't have a GPS, (then presumably you'll be bringing a smartphone with you) you can still enrol, you may wish to find a mobile source of internet to assist you with some or all of the following, which may or may not come up in your studies:
-British Grid notation
-Decimal degree format
-Maidenhead notation
-MGRS notation
-RT90 grid system
-DMS notation
-Machiatto system
-Mindec notation
-QNG Grid
-UTM notation
-Waypoint projection
Once you have located each lesson, you'll be asked to answer a relevant question. You needn't get them all right, but you'll need to get a certain number right to obtain a passing grade and unlock the final co-ordinates.
The difficulty rating of this cache reflects the difficulty in locating each lesson. The questions I think are general knowledge, but a mobile source of internet may be handy. Locating the final cache itself once you have the co-ordinates should be straightforward.
The final cache is around 20 minutes walk away from the final lesson, so you may wish to drive. There is parking nearby, as well as parking in the village whilst you're "studying". Please park considerately, legally and safely.
Please exercise common sense when looking for the final cache, and keep any geo-kids in your party at a safe place. We'd strongly recommend confining your search for the final cache to daylight hours, and when visibility is generally good.
