Ajax Bay Traditional Cache

Accessible by a grass track or a 20 minute walk from Wreck Point House. You will need to get permission from the house to carry on down to Ajax Bay.

Ajax Bay was built in the 1950’s as a refrigeration plant to freeze mutton but after a few years it was closed when it was deemed economically unviable. During the conflict in 1982 the remaining buildings were used as a field hospital for British troops.
