Geocache Description:

One of a series of ten church micros placed in Chesham. You may wish to find coordinates for GZ at Emmanuel and St Columba before proceeding to GZ. **PLEASE NOTE THIS CACHE IS NOT ACCESSIBLE FROM THE ROAD. YOU NEED TO FIND THE ACCESS POINT FOR THE PARALLEL FOOTPATH.**

There is a long history of non conformism in Chesham going back to the fifteenth century. The church first met in Townfield Yard Waterside , having separated from what is now Trinity Baptist. Initially a high Calvanistic chapel (opened in 1820) it was renamed a Particular Baptist chapel by 1851. As Chesham grew to the north the church decided to move north with the people and a sunday school hall was built in Newtown in 1914. Due to the First world War the chapel was not completed until much later.
